On Saturday night I made the mistake of staying up to watch the entire two-hour episode of Heroes. Not that I was able to sleep when I did go to bed, but all that TV certainly didn't help. On Sunday I worked from 4 AM to noon and it was total disaster. And that's putting it mildly. Since I was already at work I went to the Boeing gym before I went home. The rest of my Sunday was really boring because I was exhausted from a sleepless night, a long day at work, and a fairly difficult workout. I tried to stay awake for the sake of the clothes I had in the dryer, but I fell asleep around 9 PM.
Work today was insane. I hadn't sat at my usual desk for more than two weeks and people were stopping by way too often to ask questions. The only thing I accomplished all day was sending out two emails. They were important emails, but insignificant compared to the work that piled up while I was on travel/working elsewhere. The bright side is that I only worked eight hours today! That hasn't happened in a long time and it was refreshing. Dan will be home from Las Vegas tomorrow, so I made a spaghetti casserole for our dinner. Having dinner already made when I get home from work is a great feeling. And after the day I've had a good feeling is always welcome.

I have to be back at work at 4 AM, but I'm watching the season premiere of Heroes before I go to sleep. It's two hours long so I don't think I'll have time to watch it all. Plus, our DVR cut off the first few minutes so I'll have to go to the NBC website to see what I missed. Speaking of TV, it's probably a good thing that the Gator football game wasn't nationally televised because watching them lose to Ole Miss today would have been heartbreaking. As it was, I found out from the ESPN website while I was at work. My only consolation is that both USC and Georgia lost this week as well. It's been a crazy week. I got back from DC on Monday evening after being awake for more than 24 hours. I've been working too much lately, but that probably won't change between now and the end of the year. I have several more business trips coming up, but if I'm lucky Dan and I will still be able to go to New Zealand over Christmas. I'm really looking forward to that. We both need a vacation.

The good news is that the All Blacks won the Tri Nations Cup by beating the Wallabies 28 to 24. It was a close match and really exciting to watch. The bad news is that South Carolina was unable to beat Georgia and USC is crushing Ohio State right now. Oh well. Since the Gators didn't play today I wasn't biting my fingernails watching their game. Next week will be a different story.
The rest of today will be dedicated to getting both Dan and me ready to go out of town tomorrow on separate business trips. I'm almost done packing, but I still have a few things to do before I leave tomorrow. I'll be in DC for eight days and I'll be working the night shift (5 AM to 5 PM) every day. Yuck. It looks like the Florida vs. Tennessee football game is at 2:30 PM EDT next Saturday so I'll be able to watch part of it before I have to go to work. At least that's something.

It's a great day for sports! Dan and I are watching the Tri Nations Rugby chamionship game between the New Zealand All Blacks and the Australia Wallabies. The All Blacks are winning so far, which is what we want. At the same time I'm monitoring the Georgia vs. South Carolina football game on ESPN.com, and the No. 2 ranked Bulldogs are losing! It would be an amazing upset if South Carolina wins. And later tonight is the USC vs. Ohio State football game. I'd love to see the Buckeyes beat the Trojans, but the Gators benefit no matter who wins. It would be great to see No. 1 USC lose, though. We'll see what happens!

Current favorite song - "Tattoo" by Jordin Sparks
"I can't waste time so give it a moment I realized nothing's broken No need to worry about everything I've done Live every second like it was my last one Don't look back got a new direction I loved you once needed protection You're still a part of everything I do You're on my heart just like a tattoo"

GO GATORS! I was upset that last week's game against Hawaii wasn't nationally televised, but at least I got to watch this week's game against Miami. I had to go to work earlier today, but I made sure I was home before kickoff at 5 PM. The first half of the football game was a little scary, but Florida was in control during the second half, beating the Hurricanes 26-3. This year's college football season has barely started, but I already have high hopes for the Gators. The rest of the year is going to be fantastic.

It figures that just as soon as we get the internet working at our house again that my computer would die. I should have been prepared for that after it crashed the last time. I'm afraid it really is time for a new laptop.
